THE BIGGEST HALFMARATHON IN FINLAND - HELSINKI CITY RUN

Helsinki City Run is run on Saturday May 4th, 2013

The start of the half marathon will be on Vauhtitie-street close to the Olympic Stadium and Swimming Stadium every ten minutes starting from 3 PM. The finish line is located inside the Olympic Stadium. There are seven starting groups to which the runners are divided based on the estimated running times given with the registration. 

The aim of this event is to offer a great running event for everyone who is into sports and running. Although Helsinki City Run is a competition, where the best runners in the classes are rewarded, it is primarily meant for keep-fit enthusiasts, whose aim is to challenge and exceed themselves, and not so much to compete on placements.

A halfmarathon alongside of water and in the parks

The 21,097.5 meters long course will go around the Central Park (Keskuspuisto) of Helsinki. Get to know the course map.

Refreshment points

There are four refreshment points along the route, at which water and Gatorade Orange (6%) -sports drink are served. In addition, you can find different refreshments at the finish.

Chip-timing

Helsinki City Run will use ChampionChip system for timing. The chip makes it possible for the runner to be able to get also the actual running time that the runner has spent from crossing the start carpet to crossing the finish line.

Medal and T-shirt

Every participant will get a Helsinki City Run T-shirt. In addition, every runner crossing the finish line will receive a Helsinki City Run medal.

Showers&dressing rooms at the Swimming Stadium

After the run, all the participants can use the shower and sauna facilities at the Helsinki Swimming Stadium. The runner will get a free admission by showing the running number. The Swimming Stadium is located just behind the Olympic Stadium.
